Best Time to Buy UK Property Now
If there was ever a perfect storm or best time to buy UK property it must be now. Combing both the absolute low £ and the fears of Brexit properties and Professional HMOs…plus Social Housing can be bought right especially for investors outside of the UK. We sold a 5 bed Social HMO last week plus have hopefully a 5 bed professional HMO being sold to a UK expat who lives in New Zealand. Personally my family is investing in social HMOs as we feel we might be at the top of a property cycle. Combing the low £ plus the relative stability of social housing we are putting our money in these social family houses and social HMOs. They are on 5 and 10 year contracts. No voids..No management…no maintenance …this lets our colleagues run refurbishment projects. At the moment we are running 5 of them. It is a great deal of stress…Fire door issues…counter tops need replacing….Electrical issues…gas issues….However we are dealing with them from 6am in the morning.
We had a lady from Hong Kong asking about our properties at 5.30 am this morning. I think she forgot there was a time difference. My son is starting his property journey now. He had a job at a hedge fund however one Thursday they told him he has 2 months severance and he is not needed. Considering the volatility of the stock market, I told him they did him a favor. He is looking to refurb 2 houses…tenanent them and sell them on as a turn key project with the local council managing the properties. Actually he was in shock at the conditions of the properties he viewed even though he grew up in the property business.
