Controlling Your Refurbishment Costs and Repair Costs for UK Property

If you do not know what things cost you are looking at a world of problems in UK property. It does not matter if this in refurbishment or day to day repairs. We had 2 shocking instances this week. One was a roofing issue and the second was a quote on a refurb to make a 5 bed social HMO.

We recieved notification that there was a leak. Our local handyman sent out his roofer. We recieved a quote of 3500 GBP. We knew something was wrong at the onset. As we have completed on over 150 projects we know what things cost and have built up with trusted builders. We asked our roofer to drive the 1 hour away to inspect and report back. He came back with a final invoice and works completed. Many tile slates shifted as well as other works. Bottom line issue resolved and sorted.

Next issue was a quote on a 5 bed social HMO. As we have several of these in refurb plus just finished several we know pretty well the costs. Bingo…over priced…next. No job

The key take away is know what things cost otherwise you will be throwing money in the bin.
